With several players around 100 caps, it is hard to find a more experienced team than Uruguay. The two time World Cup champions are always difficult to beat and should prove so yet again in Russia. It is simply amazing that a country of just over 3 million inhabitants can produce players who have gone on to excel at the very biggest of stages. Barcelona's Luis Suarez and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani have played together throughout all the youth teams and it has always been them against the world. Both players have had been somewhat forced to play supporting roles at their clubs to more global superstars from much larger countries. But there is no disputing the raw technical ability the two forwards possess.

Luis Suarez's trophy cabinet is packed with both team and individual awards, he has stolen the show wherever he has played. He was an Eredivisie Player of the Year with Ajax and a Premier League Footballer of the Year with Liverpool. Suarez is also the only player in the last 10 years other than Ronaldo and Messi to win the European Golden Shoe, and he did so on two occasions.  His goalscoring record for club and country is phenomenal and he is Uruguay all-time leading goal scorer. Second in line in Uruguay's all-time goal scoring charts in none other than Cavani, who is also PSG's greatest ever goal scorer. Since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the French capital Cavani has recorded back to back 40 goal seasons.

Apart from Cavani and Suarez Uruguay have an equally impressive centre-back pairing in the experienced Diego Godin and a player who plays way beyond his age, Jose Marie Gimenez. Both players have played together for several seasons in an Atletico Madrid defence that is notoriously described as the best defence in Europe. Oscar Tabarez, the man credited with saving Urgragyan football will take his troops to his 4th World Cup if anyone knows this team and its players it is him.

Head Coach: Oscar Tabarez

Population: 3 million

Appearances: 13

Best: Winners 1930, Winners 1950

How they Qualified: Despite going several games without Suarez and couple without Cavani, Uruguay still managed to be the second placed team behind Brazil in the South American qualifiers. Tabarez used his team well especially making use of some of Uruguay's future stars.

Star Players: Luis Suarez(Barcelona), Edinson Cavani(PSG), Diego Godin(Atletico Madrid), José María Giménez(Atletico Madrid), Fernando Muslera(Galatasaray)

Wildcard: Giorgian de Arrascaeta- The Cruizero number 10 will wear the same number for Uruguay in Russia and if given the chance has all the tools to make a real difference. He was a star of the Uruguayan team that went all the way to the U20 World Cup final only to lose to Paul Pogba and France on penalties. One of those players with magic in his boots, de Arrascaeta can introduce himself to the world in Russia.
